FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do Turkish citizens need the RVO points test?

No. The points system is not applied, but RVO still assesses whether your business plan is viable and meets a need in the Netherlands.

Can I work as a highly skilled migrant without a recognised sponsor?

Yes. Turkish citizens can work for any Dutch employer that meets the salary criterion, and can file the application themselves.

When am I free on the labour market?

After 3 years of work with the same employer you no longer need a work permit – instead of the usual 5 years.

Do I need an entry visa?

Usually yes. Most Turkish citizens need an MVV before travelling. We arrange the application with you.

Who in my family can join me?

Your spouse or registered partner, children under 21 or older if dependent, and dependent parents or grandparents.

Are the IND fees really lower?

Yes. Turkish citizens and their family members often pay lower fees for applications, extensions and replacement documents.
